The curved profile cuts better than a flat edge and carries material along the moldboard, which gives more even grading — it is the preferred edge type on motor graders. Choose a thinner edge for light abrasion and low impact, a thicker one where abrasion or impact is heavy, to gain strength and wear allowance.
Hole count has to match the moldboard: a 15-hole edge cannot be used on a 13-hole machine. The edge is through-hardened carbon or boron steel and is best replaced together with the end bits.
