Aftermarket crankshaft thrust washer (thrust plate) 5I-7654A — a direct replacement for the Caterpillar 5I-7654 thrust washer. It fits the Caterpillar 3066 / S6K / C6.4 diesel engine family (also 3064 / C4.2), commonly used on CAT 312B / 313D / 320C / 320D excavators. Thickness 2.45 mm.
The thrust washer sits at the main bearing position and controls crankshaft end-float. When it wears, crankshaft end-float becomes excessive — typical signs are a clonk when engaging the transmission or changing load, and in severe cases the crankshaft can move far enough to damage the block or bearings. It is normally renewed together with the main bearings during an engine overhaul. Supplied as a set (a pair of half-rings).
