Inlet valve seat insert (36 mm outside diameter) for the Caterpillar C6.4 / 3066 diesel engine — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 305-4883. It is pressed into the head to give the inlet valve a hard, heat-resistant sealing surface.
Seats recede, pit and burn with hours, especially on gas or hot-running engines; a worn seat loses compression (hard starting, misfire, power loss). Replaced during head work when the seat contact is too wide or the seat is cracked.
Supplied as one seat. Confirm the engine model and seat diameter before ordering; fit to the specified interference, cut/lap the seat angle and check valve stem height.
