Cylinder head valve guide for the Caterpillar C6.4 / 3066 diesel engine — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 305-4885. It gives both intake and exhaust valves a passage and keeps the stem aligned in the head.
Guides wear with hours: bore wear lets the valve rock, which closes up the seat contact, burns valves and lets oil down the guide (blue smoke, oil consumption). Replaced during head work when the stem-to-guide clearance is out of spec.
Supplied as one guide. Confirm the engine model before ordering; press in as specified, ream/hone to the correct clearance and check stem height after fitting.
