Valve pushrod (311 mm long, steel) for the Caterpillar C4.2 / C6.4 diesel engine — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 294-1716. It transfers motion from the camshaft/lifter to the rocker arm to open the valve.
A pushrod bends when a valve sticks, when the engine is over-revved or when a lifter fails; a bent pushrod throws the valve clearance out and makes the engine run rough or lose power. Replaced during head work or whenever bent ends or worn ball ends are found.
Supplied as one pushrod. Confirm the engine model and length before ordering; check for straightness and inspect the lifter/rocker ball ends on assembly.
