Confirm this part for my machine
Machine model and part number are what let us confirm fitment in writing. Message is optional.
Overview
Fitment Note: Confirmed by the removed pin number and its measured outer diameter and length. 34 mm x 84 mm. One pin per piston; tell us your engine and we confirm the number.
Engine piston pin (gudgeon pin) for the Caterpillar 3066 / S6K / C6.4 diesel engine family (also 3064 / C4.2) — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 094-7134. Outer diameter 34 mm x length 84 mm, 20Cr carburised alloy steel, case-hardened and precision-ground. It connects the piston to the connecting rod and transfers combustion load.
The piston pin is a wear item that carries alternating loads and reciprocating friction. Typical failures are outer-diameter wear, pitting and abnormal knocking from excessive clearance in the rod bush; in severe cases it can seize or score the rod bushing. It is normally checked and replaced together with the piston, rod bush and retainers during an engine overhaul.
Supplied as a single pin (20Cr carburised alloy steel). Confirm the removed part number and the measured outer diameter / length before ordering; observe the correct fit with the rod bushing and piston bore, and fit new piston-pin retainers.
Key Features
Direct replacement for CAT 094-7134
34 mm outer diameter x 84 mm length, 20Cr carburised alloy steel
Case-hardened and precision-ground for accurate fit and long life
Piston knock / rattle, increased oil consumption, blow-by, excessive clearance in the rod bushing, outer-diameter wear or pitting; may score the bushing in severe cases.
Installation Tips
1. Check the piston bore and rod bushing for wear; measure clearance before fitting.
2. Clean all parts and fit the pin with the correct clearance (do not hammer in).
3. The pin is normally a light press / push fit in the piston and a running fit in the rod bush.
4. Fit new piston-pin retainers (circlips) and confirm they are fully seated.
