Piston (102 mm outside diameter, standard, supplied with rings) for the Caterpillar C6.4 / 3066 diesel engine — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 324-4235. It forms the moving combustion chamber wall and transfers the combustion force to the connecting rod.
Pistons wear at the ring lands, skirt and pin bore, and crack from heat; worn lands let oil past (blue smoke, oil consumption), slap when cold and lose compression. Replaced during an overhaul or when the bore/ring clearances are out of spec.
Supplied as one piston (rings included). Confirm the engine model and bore size before ordering; check the liner/bore, ring gap and piston-to-liner clearance, and fit with new pin clips.
