Engine oil filter gasket for the Caterpillar C6.4 / 3066 diesel engine — a direct replacement for the original Caterpillar 125-2979. Fitted between the oil filter housing and the cylinder block to stop oil weeping from the sealing face.
A small but critical seal: once it hardens, splits or is over-compressed it starts to weep, leaving oil traces on the block and a falling oil level. Normally replaced every time the oil filter is changed, or whenever the filter base is disturbed.
Supplied as a single gasket. Confirm the removed part number before ordering; clean the sealing faces and tighten the filter housing to the specified torque so the gasket is not squeezed out.
